Product Description
Dioctyl Phthalate (DOP) Oily transparent liquid Slightly with odor , Molecular formula C24H38O4, Molecular weight 390.5, Relative Density (d2020) 0.986, water solubility ≤0.01% (25 ºC). Is widely used as a plasticizer, good overall performance, and good compatibility with polyvinyl chloride, synthetic resins, cellulose nitrate and other rubber. is widely used in all kinds of soft PVC plastics such as films, leather, wire, cable, molded products and other; widely used in rubber, paints and emulsifier and other industries, can improve resilience of products, reduce the compression deformed, and no effect on the vulcanization of rubber.

Application
95% of DOP is used as a Plasticizer in PVC resins for fabricating flexible vinyl. Product like: vinyl upholstery, tablecloth, shower, curtain, raincoat, shoes, garden hoses, swimming pools liners, polymeric coating, cable coating, component of paper & paperboard, defoaming agents, surface lubricants, in order of importance.
The only significant non-plasticizer use for DOP is an replacement for polychlrinated biphenyls in dielectric fuild for electric capacitors.
The micelleneous use for DOP are : as the solvent in erasable ink, as an acaricide for use in orchards, as an inert ingredient in pesticides, as an vacuum pump oil, in detecting leaks in respirators.
